Construction Project

The first weekend in November Jeff's dad, Tony, came out to visit and help Jeff with his first home construction project. Over our fireplace in the living room was an almost 3 foot cubed box cut out to fit one of the deep box tv's (which is strange since our house was built in 2006). We wanted to mount our flat screen up there so we had to fill in the hole.

First they put up some plastic to save my house from all the crazy dust.

Then the demolition started so the could get to the studs.

We decided to leave about a 3 inch gap so all of the TV components could still fit in there nicely.

The built the new studs so that the TV mount would fit on them perfectly.

Then Jeff had his first experience with sheetrocking.

His dad had to leave after this, but all Jeff had left was to cover it in putty and paint.

They did such an amazing job! I'm going to have to think of some more projects for them to do!

 

The room looks sooooo much bigger! It's crazy!
